Accepting Credit Card Payments

posted in: Technology 0

It’s really convenient to be able to accept credit card payments for your business. Most startup companies seemingly tend to stay away from it for numerous reasons. Well if it’s fear or just because you don’t know much about how those credit card thingys work- there is tons of info out there to help you along the way. I hate paying monthly fees for anything, especially for items I don’t always use. Maybe your business is so new you don’t have a sale every month to cover the typical monthly fees associated with credit card processors. In that case try www.squareup.com or www.paypal.com which both have pay only for when you use it features. www.beanstream.com is solid online processor with monthly fees but nothing extreme.

Whatever you choose be sure to know the costs before you sign up or “apply” for an account. Starting up small, take it inch by inch and it’ll be a cinch. Yard by yard and it can be hard. So don’t sign up for anything that dings your checking every month unless you already have reoccurring sales or a nice 6-9 month sales trend with activity each month.

CDG Commerce, whom we have dealt with a lot is a good company for those you ready for services beyond paypal. Check them out here.
