Dream On

One observation about successful entrepreneurs and business folks alike, regardless of ethics, those that are diligent seem to prosper in their craft. It’s doing things on a consistent or regular basis that causes an organization to succeed. It’s rarely the one time events that really make a difference. When running your organization it’s important to instill consistency with your workforce while appreciating the visionaries energy they provide. You probably have lots of items on your wishlist of things you hope to get to because you believe those items will increase your success. What about the little boring details in your organization that you know are NOT being tended to? With any amount of time in business you are probably well aware of the value of the DETAILS. But most of us dread taking care of those or attending to  them the way we should, even though we know that these details are critical to your forward success. If they are not tended to your ability to accomplish the dream items for your organization.

For me it’s been a weird realization about the joy I find in the details. Over the years and many different jobs since high-school there seems to have been a common thread. I really didn’t see it as it was happening of course but taking a long look back I have come to realize and appreciate this weird bent I have for details and helping others. My personal dream is pretty simple and probably boring to most as it doesn’t contain any celebrity, rock star coolness or desires for fame. For me it’s about helping lots of people and doing so privately as much as possible. The help I have always seem to fall back into is handling of finances for businesses and organizations intermixed with my thirst for technology. (Something to do with having computers in our home back in the day when they had only 64K of memory – The Radio Shack TRS-80 and Rainbow Magazine along with my older brother, who is a serious computer geek to this day, started it for me.

Today we are growing our practice with Full-Service Bookkeeping & Payroll Solutions. We exclusively manage Cloud Based soft-wares: QuickBooks Online, Google Apps, Bill.com, Intuit Payroll and a few custom software’s like MyChanix, Simple Care and Asset Tracking.  Everything we are engaging in with our clients is designed to bring the organization to the Cloud with 100% Mobility.  We love it and (see reviews) so do our clients. Why? Because today’s technologies make it easier than ever for every organization to view and manage those little details 24/7. We have our discounts for the soft-wares so we offer those to anyone even if they don’t want us to manage their fiances. That’s why we came up with DIY Services. We setup the service for you and then let you run with it and offer support and training if needed.

One of our recent engagements with a local home builder was to help the owner of the company clearly see is Cost of Doing Business in comparison to Revenues and Estimates. He has been trying to get this information out of his accounting department and CPA  for over 15 years. We found that the current bookkeeping processes made it nearly impossible (15 years impossible) to make this calculation. Making a few process changes the calculation can now be run in about 10 minutes using a spreadsheet.  Quite boring, but we LOVED figuring this out. And the owner is happy, very happy!

So this summer while fishing and enjoying the weather (our condolences to those of you NOT in Michigan) and you begin to dream about the NEXT step for your business, think about us and how we can help you with the BORING stuff so that you can DREAM ON and take your organization to the place you want.

(Disclaimer: we sound godlike, but we are human indeed, in fact you probably can find typos in this newsletter because I am typing it myself. In fact I will pay $1.00 per typo for those that find them. I will not pay out for same typo multiple times, first come first serve.  I will set aside $100.00, geesh I hope there is not that many.)
