A new business as of 6 days ago, opened on North Clark Street in Chicago and we found it by walking by. The store was open for business and had lots of people inside who were curious about 3D Printing, as were we. The companies is named “The 3D Printer Experience” and it’s located at 320 North Clark Street Chicago, IL 60654 their website is www.the3dprinterexperience.com.
We met Matt Spergel who gave us a tour of all their printers and they had quite a few from the small cheaper models ($999.00) to the NASA looking printers in the back. They were very passionate about this technology and I enjoyed their enthusiasm.
You can pay to have your body scanned into a digital image and then they’ll print you out in plastic. Way cool!
One important notice: this startup company is a Google Apps user and also Chrome Browser users. I snooped over the shoulder of one the staffers shoulders and watched him using gmail.
I recommend a visit to this store if you are in the area and maybe you can afford to buy a take home desktop 3D Printer for $999.00.
